On September 12, 2024, OpenAI unveiled a new model, OpenAI o1, that can literally “think” like a human. This model doesn’t just generate text based on data, but builds logical reasoning, analyzes tasks, and improves answers, making it 5–6 times more productive than the previous GPT-4o model. IT-World has already reported on OpenAI’s work on a new technology codenamed “Strawberry,” which will allow AI models to not only generate answers, but also plan actions on the Internet autonomously, performing “deep research.”
